Camper Conversion part 9: how to get the original bench seat?

In Built in the workshop, inspiration by bianka

The car definitely needs an extra back seat if more than 3 people want to be on the road. Fortunately, the van is approved as a 9-seater and so the holes in the floor for the attachment and also those for the straps were already there.

So it only needs the bench plus associated belts. Only, to find them was not so easy. In ebay classifieds and also otherwise on the Internet, there were only benches for newer makes from year of manufacture 2006. In this year, there were some major modifications to the model Boxer / Ducato / Jumper, so that the no longer fit.

I have in the meantime also once thought about buying a new one that is specially made. For this you only get rid of very quickly 1,500 to 2,500 EUR. I thought that was too expensive, so I kept looking. There wasn’t much pressure yet, because the expansion as a whole wasn’t far advanced. Then I could take care of the other things first and searched in parallel.

Then I finally found one. I had to drive to Baden Württemberg for it, but it was so worth it. The bench was in good condition, just needed a little upholstery care… all screws and straps were also included… for a whopping 25 EUR. Bam! Bought and installed ;D
